Fresh cut orchids stems are the perfect “Standalone” flower arrangement. They are long lasting, come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. If cared for properly they will last 10-14 days.
Caring for your fresh cut orchids stem is so easy. Cut the stems at an angle with pruning shears every couple of days. Please do not use a knife or scissors when cutting your stems. Doing this will crush the stem making it difficult for the flower to absorb the water which will result in them prematurely wilting. Change the water if it starts to get cloudy. By doing this you will prolong the life of your flowers. The water line should be below the flower blossoms.
The vast majority of our orchids are grown on the Big Island of Hawaii. They are usually available year round. However, there is the odd occasion when we might need to order them from other places. Thailand and New Zealand are our “go-to” places when they are not available locally. Our first choice, of course, is to buy from local/small farmers. Buying local matters to Maui Blooms.
